Our Chef’s Organic Garden!
Our Chef’s Organic Garden!
Dec 31/09 | For The Foodie

Before going green became mainstream in the hospitality industry, The Breakers pioneered this challenge. It was more than ten-years ago that we became an ecologically friendly hotel (awesome, right?).

“We all share a passion for preserving our planet and reducing our carbon footprint, ” says Rick Hawkins, Director of Materials Management. “Our goal is to set standards high enough to be a model for our community and our peers.”

Today, The Breakers operates tons of innovative “Go Green” programs and initiatives including: a green market for employees during growing season, an organic herb & veggie garden (seen above) and water conservation.

Ardelia Scicchitano: I wish more people would write blogs like this that are really fun to read. With all the fluff floating around on the net, it is rare to read a blog like this instead. {May 6, 2011 04:33 pm}
